* Easy Inexpensive Fruit Salad

Want a crowd pleasing fruit salad that won’t break the bank? I’ve got one for you.

Empty a can of fruit cocktail into a colander.

Drain it well. You can put the colander on a plate or in a bowl, then in the fridge overnight to continue to drain. (there can be a lot of liquid still in the fruit so make sure your plate or bowl will hold it or you will be mopping out the fridge)  You can skip the overnight part if you want to, but wet fruit cocktail won’t work as well.

Now mix it with either Cool Whip or canned sweetened condensed milk. Add any other fruits or nuts that you would like in it.

And there you have it; it never fails to be a crowd pleaser at my house. A gallon size can cost $5 -$6 and can be found at places like Wal-Mart or Costco, usually on a bottom shelf. I fed 8 women and 9 children with a gallon size can today with some left over.

    1. It's to taste, add some, stir and taste. If you think it needs more then add more. There's no right or wrong amount.
